☔️ Make a claim: Coinbase

Redefind | You need to prove ownership of your insured account to make a claim

Updated over a month ago

Connecting to Coinbase exchange instructions

Step 1: Log in to your Redefind portal, and navigate to the report theft page. After reading the 'Claim Summary page' Click on the 'prove ownership' button. This will bring up a Vezgo connection widget.

Step 2: Click on Coinbase inside the Exchanges section of the connection widget, and click ‘Connect account

Step 3: A new tab will open. In this new tab, log in to your Coinbase account via email and password. This will be followed with a request to enter in your two-factor-authenticator code (2FA).

🤓 FYI

Please note that CoverCrypto uses Vezgo to power our connections so it is the Vezgo third party app that you are approving for access to your Coinbase account (rest assured, Vezgo is read-only, can never access your cryptoassets, and has bank-level encryption. You can read more here).

Step 4: Allow read-only access to all of your assets on Coinbase (all assets are auto selected on this step, which we recommend). Please note if you disable access to any of these assets then they will not be covered by CoverCrypto as we will not be able to see them within your account. Click ‘Allow access’:

💡 Tip

Fiat currencies (GBP, EUR, USD) are not covered by Redefind, so you can feel free to hide access to these if you wish in Step 4.

This account is now connected and you can proceed by adding your theft transactions to your theft basket and completing your claims for.

Disconnecting

  • If you would like to disconnect your Coinbase account from Redefind, click ‘Remove Connection’ on the connection within your Redefind portal.

  • You can also remove Redefind/Vezgo from your actual Coinbase account, navigate to ‘My preferences’ -> ‘Activity’ -> ‘Third Party Applications’ -> Click on the ‘x’ on the far right corner of this page (circled blue) -> click ‘Disconnect’ on the popup.
